Samsung Electronics Ltd announces the return of some of its best performing Christmas channels on Samsung TV Plus, including the Vevo Christmas channel, in partnership with Vevo, the world’s leading music video network, and two of Samsung’s owned-and-operated channels, Festive Hub and X-Mas Mix.

According to Samsung Ads Europe data, viewers are more engaged during the Holiday season, with total time spent with Samsung Smart TVs during December 17% higher than the yearly average, and the total time spent streaming per TV per day reaching 2.1 hours during this period (December 2022).

After a successful launch last year, the Vevo Christmas channelis back again, and this time in even more markets. Vevo Christmas (also stylised as Vevo Natale, Vevo Navidad, and Vevo Noël) will now be available in Australia and New Zealand, and will return to the UK, Italy, Spain and France. The channel features current and classic festive music videos and performances, as well as festive artist ‘takeovers’ from Mariah Carey, Justin Bieber, John Legend, Meghan Trainor, and many more. Each holiday channel is localised to bring the best artists from every region.

Vevo Christmas is just one of the several Vevo channels featured on Samsung TV Plus in Europe, including Vevo Pop, Vevo 90s & 00s, Vevo 70s & 80s, and Vevo Hip Hop & R&B. Following its debut last year, Vevo Christmas became the #1 most watched Vevo channel for the month of December 2022 in the US, UK, Italy, and Germany. Christmas Day was also the highest viewed day of the year in 2022 for the channel.

Also making a return to Samsung TV Plus in the UK this year is Festive Hub, the Samsung owned-and-operated channel dedicated to festive entertainment. Home to Christmas blockbusters and British favourites, nostalgic seasonal specials, and delicious holiday recipes and cooking tips, ‘Festive Hub’ is sure to get audiences in the spirit of Christmas with its live and on-demand content available, completely free of charge.

Samsung TV Plus audiences in DACH will also get to enjoy a new Samsung owned-and-operated channel, X-Mas Mix, this year, featuring great Christmas films and nostalgic Christmas specials tailored to their region.

Samsung TV Plus is exclusively available on more than 50 Million Samsung devices in Europe, without the need for an antenna or additional application – just an internet connection.

Jennifer Batty, European Head of Content Acquisition at Samsung TV Plus said: “We see a substantial increase in time spent on our Samsung TVs and watching Samsung TV Plus in December; a lot of this is driven by audiences’ appetite for Christmas and other festive content. Whether that be music, cooking or just a holiday classic film for the family, Samsung TV Plus delivers it all for free. FAST has proven to be the perfect destination for both content partners and audiences to explore the benefits of curated content that can be adapted throughout the year. Valued partners like Vevo continue to help us deliver this content to our global audiences, and we’re excited to see what this upcoming festive season will bring.”

JP Evangelista, Senior Vice President Content, Programming & Marketing, Vevo, also added: “Vevo is a major tune-in destination during the holiday season, reflected in our increasingly engaged viewership, which builds each week and peaks on December 25th. Our festive channels are a strong addition to our existing programming line-up, attracting incremental audiences year-over-year. We know what consumers want to watch, and with our curatorial expertise, Vevo delivers fans the most timely, culturally relevant content. We are proud of the level of localisation that Vevo programming offers uniquely to each territory, from the US, to UK, Germany, Spain, Italy, and beyond.”
