Disney+ has signed a new partnership with the Spanish public broadcaster RTVE, allowing RTVE’s drama and entertainment programs to be available on the platform the day after they air on linear TV.
This marks Disney+’s second collaboration of this kind in Spain, following last year’s 300-hour content-sharing agreement with Atresmedia. Similar partnerships also exist in the UK with ITV, in Germany with ZDF, and in Portugal with SIC.
Among the highlights is the thriller series Rojo sobre blanco (Red on White), produced by Good Mood under the Mediawan umbrella and starring Hugo Silva and María Hervás. On the entertainment front, the platform will feature the 14th season of MasterChef and the 11th season of Celebrity MasterChef. Through the RTVE collaboration, the company aims to expand its offerings targeting young and female audiences.
Karl Holmes, Disney+ EMEA GM, noted that the agreement not only enriches the platform but also increases visibility for creative talent in Spain. Additionally, Disney+ is reaching younger viewers with its Spanish documentary series Abandoned, which was introduced at Series Mania.
