Prime Video has announced the release date for its upcoming action series Countdown. Starring Jensen Ackles, the series will premiere on June 25.
Starring Ackles (Supernatural), Eric Dane (Grey’s Anatomy), and Jessica Camacho (The Flash, Watchmen), the series is created by Derek Haas (Chicago PD, FBI: International). Countdown will debut with three episodes, and the new episodes will air weekly. The season finale is scheduled for September 3.
In Countdown, the LAPD detective Mark Meachum (Ackles) investigates the case of an officer working in the Department of Homeland Security, who is murdered in broad daylight. Meachum must lead a secret task force and work with undercover agents from all branches of law enforcement to uncover this mystery. But the investigation soon reveals an even more dangerous plot, and Meachum finds himself in a race against time to save a city of millions.
The supporting cast includes Violett Beane (The Flash), Elliot Knight (The Boys), and Uli Latukefu (Young Rock, Black Adam).
The series is created by showrunner and executive producer Haas and produced by Amazon MGM Studios, and will be available exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
