BBC has announced the third and final season of the psychological drama Doctor Foster.
Suranne Jones will reprise her role as Gemma Foster, with Bertie Carvel returning as Simon, and Tom Taylor as their son Tom. Mike Bartlett continues as the show’s creator and writer for the series.
The first two seasons attracted a large audience, with the finale of the second season watched by nearly 10 million viewers.
The new season will consist of five episodes and revisit events from 10 years ago, focusing on Gemma confronting her past while trying to balance her new life. Suranne Jones described the new season as being themed around “accountability and questioning.”
Filming is set to begin in the spring, and the final season promises to take viewers on an emotionally charged and suspenseful journey.
