Polish production company ATM Group has acquired the television adaptation rights to Remigiusz Mróz’s bestseller Hell is Empty.

The project is based on the first book in the journalism-themed thriller series called Raport. The story centers on a journalistic investigation into the high-profile disappearance of a young woman. The narrative unfolds between the present day and the unresolved events from 2015.

Anna Nagler serves as creative producer on the project, exploring the themes of power structures, media responsibility, disinformation, and the value of truth.

Remigiusz Mróz has been Poland’s most widely read author for the past six years, with total book sales exceeding 11 million copies. Several of his previous works, including Chyłka, The Behaviourist, and Forst, have already been adapted for the screen.

VP of ATM, Urszula Piasecka said: “Remigiusz Mróz is unquestionably one of the strongest author brands on the Polish market today. We chose Hell Is Empty because it is an exceptional piece of material with strong screen potential; emotionally intense and highly relevant, raising urgent questions about the limits of media responsibility and whether truth still holds real value in an era of disinformation.”
