The title of Netflix’s Stranger Things animated spin-off series has been revealed.

The final season of Stranger Things, Season 5, is one of the most anticipated TV series of 2025. After nearly three years of waiting, the show is preparing to bid a grand farewell, while also expanding its universe with various spin-off projects. The first of these spin-offs will be an animated series titled Tales From ’85.

“We’ve always dreamed of an animated Stranger Things in the vein of the Saturday morning cartoons that we grew up loving, and to see this dream realized has been absolutely thrilling,” Stranger Things creators Matt and Ross Duffer tell Tudum.

The Duffers are executive producing the new project via their Upside Down Pictures production banner, along with Shawn Levy and Dan Cohen via 21 Laps and Eric Robles, who is also the showrunner for the series, via Flying Bark Productions. “We couldn’t be more blown away by what Eric Robles and his team have come up with –– the scripts and artwork are incredible, and we can’t wait to share more with you! The adventure continues …”

The release date for Tales From ’85 has not yet been confirmed.
