Sky New Zealand has renegotiated its content partnership with Sony Pictures Television.
The deal will provide new first-run TV series and additional feature film programming for the Sky and Neon platforms.
Sky NZ ended its content partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD)-owned HBO Max, which is set to launch as a standalone platform in June 2026. Sony will supply exclusive first-run scripted dramas for Sky and Neon.
Key series include The Lady, based on former royal assistant Jane Andrews, and the 1970s-set psychological thriller American Hostage.
The deal also provides access to Sony’s film library, including new and recent releases such as Materialists, 28 Years Later, Karate Kid: Legends (2025), and I Know What You Did Last Summer (2025)
Hundreds of hours of classic programming will also be added, including Community, Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, The Tudors, Dawson’s Creek, and S.W.A.T.
Sky aims to strengthen its premium drama and film offerings, positioning Sky and Neon as preferred destinations for viewers seeking high-quality entertainment.
