As NEM Dubrovnik 2025 came to a close, we got together with Hasret Özcan, President of Inter Medya, and Sinem Alışkan, the company’s Senior Sales and Communication Manager, to hear their thoughts on this year’s edition. With strong attendance, valuable face-to-face networking, and growing interest in Turkish content, both executives reflected on what made this year stand out.

What were your impressions of NEM Dubrovnik 2025?

“This was our third time at NEM,” said Hasret Özcan. “And each year, it keeps getting better. Honestly, we believe it’s well on its way to becoming one of the biggest and most important fairs in this region. And we’ve got sea, sand, sun… It doesn’t take much to convince clients to attend.” She added, “It was an extremely enjoyable few days. We had the chance to see many of our clients here in person. We definitely plan to return next year. Our only question is, how will they fit everyone into this hotel? Other than that, it was a truly enjoyable and successful market.”

Sinem emphasized the volume of meetings, “It was a successful market. From a meetings standpoint, it exceeded expectations. We’re very happy with the outcome, we’ll be back next year”

One of the standout aspects for both was the value of the networking opportunities.

“I think the events make a huge difference,” said Özcan. “Even if you don’t know someone beforehand, you end up having a conversation, connecting, it opens up new doors and helps you get to know the industry better.” Sinem added, “You end up face-to-face with people, and you start recognizing faces. That’s one of the most powerful things about this market. People say, ‘I think I know you,’ and next thing you know, you’re having a meeting. Sometimes it’s someone you’ve been chasing for weeks over email, here, you catch them in the hallway. So in that aspect, its very warm and successful market.”

Which titles have you been highlighting at NEM Dubrovnik 2025? Any new companies, regions or conversations?

Hasret Özcan: “We’re constantly meeting new people. Even when it’s not a traditional TV channel, we’re seeing more digital platforms expressing interest. And overall, interest in Turkish content is growing rapidly. Eshref Ruya is our brand-new title this season. Alongside it, there is Valley of Hearts, which has already been licensed in several regions. Eshref Ruya is attracting strong interest too. I think we will have good news to share soon.”

Sinem reflected on a shift they’re seeing among buyers: As more channels successfully air Turkish content, we’re finding that even those who’ve never tried it before are coming to us, saying, ‘Our competitors are getting strong results, we want to explore Turkish drama too.’ That’s very rewarding for us. The success of our titles is our success as a company.“
