GAİN has removed the series El Turco, starring Can Yaman in the lead role, from its platform.
In a written statement, it was claimed that certain remarks made by the lead actor in an interview abroad sparked mixed reactions from the public and raised various sensitivities.
It is believed that the remarks which led to the show’s removal were made during a recent short-form interview with a “This or That?” format, where Can Yaman was asked “Türkiye or Italy?” and responded with “Italy.”
There has not yet been any statement from El Turco‘s producer, Ay Yapım, on this controversial decision.
