CANNESERIES (Cannes International Series Festival) has announced the official selection for its eighth edition, set to take place from April 24th to 29th.

This year’s lineup includes 28 World Premieres, 8 International Premieres, 3 French Premieres, and 1 European Premiere. These includes The Agency (CANAL+), The Walking Dead: Dead City (CINÉ+ OCS), Duster (MAX), The Count of Monte Cristo (FRANCE TÉLÉVISIONS), Kun by Agüero (DISNEY+), Malditos (MAX), Escort Boys (PRIME), and Ma femme est une espionne ! (M6).

These days, in order to exist, producers have to redouble their ingenuity: mastering acrobatic financial arrangements, juggling public channels and platforms while trying not to lose their freedom. It’s a real balancing act! Our mission at CANNESERIES? To showcase the full breadth and depth of the world of serial production: challenging and daring series, productions designed for the general public, and those event series that everyone looks forward to. With a bit of hindsight, you may see something unique in everything we saw, as we did. What struck us this year was the return to the intimate, to the detriment of the spectacular at all costs. Fewer flashy effects, more stories rooted in reality. Stories nourished by past experiences or the fear of what might happen. An underlying anxiety that creeps into the themes. Even when we laugh, it’s often to someone’s detriment… or simply to avoid facing up to reality.” said Albin Lewi, Artistic Director of CANNESERIES.
