AMC Networks has acquired the BBC crime drama This City is Ours for its US streaming platform, AMC+.
Set in Liverpool, the series follows the complex web of gang rivalries, police investigations, and the moral dilemmas faced by those caught in the city’s underworld. Produced by Sony Pictures Television’s Left Bank Pictures, it premiered on BBC One in 2025 and quickly became one of the broadcaster’s most-watched new dramas.
The second season is currently in production, with filming taking place in both Liverpool and Spain. The show was created by Stephen Butchard, who serves as lead writer, with some episodes penned by Robbie O’Neill. Directors include Saul Dibb and John Hayes, while Simon Maloney (known for Peaky Blinders and I May Destroy You) serves as producer.
Additional production support comes from the Liverpool Film Office and the LCR Production Fund. Internationally, This City is Ours has been acquired in countries including Australia, Canada, Germany, Italy, Spain, Israel, India, the MENA region, and Türkiye.
