Apple TV+ has officially renewed Slow Horses for a seventh season. The acclaimed spy drama, based on Mick Herron’s Slough House book series, stars Academy Award winner Gary Oldman as Jackson Lamb.
The Emmy and BAFTA-winning series will return with a 6-episode season, based on Herron’s novel Bad Actors. Executive producer Will Smith told TV Insider in October 2024:
“I know that Gary [Oldman] has expressed a desire to play Lamb forever and that Mick [Herron] is still writing the books, so I hope it will go for as long as people want it.”
Jay Hunt, Creative Director of Apple TV+ Europe, added:
“Slow Horses has won fans all over the world with its unique mix of self-deprecating British humor and high-octane action. I’m delighted viewers will have another season to enjoy Gary’s magnificent performance as Jackson Lamb alongside the Slow Horses’ slightly inept spycraft.”
Meanwhile, Season 5 of Slow Horses will arrive on Apple TV+ on September 24. Season 6 has completed filming and is expected to air sometime in 2026. The newly announced Season 7 is planned to premiere in 2027.
The show is produced by See-Saw Films. Season 7 will be written by Ben Vanstone, and Robert McKillop will direct. In this new chapter, Jackson Lamb and his team will chase a mole who has infiltrated the heart of the British government, according to the brief synopsis.
