On Tuesday, June 3rd, Soho House Shoreditch hosted an exclusive panel event in collaboration with the Golden Globes and SXSW London, proudly sponsored by OGM Pictures. The panel, titled Beyond Borders: Global Voices in Cinema, brought together leading names from the world of film and television and was hosted by Golden Globes President Helen Hoehne.
Moderated by Hoehne, the panel featured Onur Güvenatam (Founder, OGM Pictures), Diana Olifirova (Cinematographer), Gareth Neame (Producer & CEO, Carnival Films), and Nigel Marchant (Producer & Managing Director, Carnival Films). The panelists—known for their work on international projects such as Downton Abbey and The Day of the Jackal, both nominated for Best Television Series and Best Actor in a Drama at the 2025 Golden Globe Awards—shared invaluable insights into the evolving landscape of global storytelling.
The discussion focused on the future of international narratives, the growing influence of Turkish television and cinema, and how creators can reach global audiences without compromising cultural authenticity. In addition to prominent figures from the entertainment industry, members of the press and select guests were in attendance.

During the panel, Onur Güvenatam, Founder of OGM Pictures, highlighted the company’s remarkable growth both in Türkiye and internationally within just five years. Emphasizing the power of emotionally resonant storytelling, he stated:
“Stories have no borders anymore. Genuine, heartfelt stories with strong cultural roots find resonance worldwide. At OGM Pictures, we believe that the more local and emotionally honest a story is, the more powerful its universal impact becomes. It’s possible to reach the world without sacrificing cultural identity. Today, a creator from Istanbul can freely make their voice heard across the globe. Our goal is not only to bring Turkish stories to the world but also to establish a lasting presence in Hollywood. Ultimately, audiences care less about where a story comes from, and more about how it makes them feel.”

Helen Hoehne, President of the Golden Globes, opened her remarks by thanking Güvenatam and added:
“Following our collaboration with OGM Pictures during the London Film Festival last October, we’re thrilled to continue this partnership through this meaningful event, where we celebrate the richness of global storytelling. I believe this panel creates a valuable platform for diverse voices in international storytelling to be heard.”
