NATPE Budapest 2024 concluded on Thursday, June 27th. We were present at the fair with our NATPE Budapest 2024 issue. Here are the highlights from the event:

This fair, which attracts top-tier buyers from Central and Eastern Europe, provided networking and sales opportunities for 125 companies this year. Held on two floors of the InterContinental Hotel, the event offered lively days to its guests, featuring participating actors and special screenings. The fair, attended by 850 executives, hosted 13 conferences. Additionally, a “Meet the Expert” session was held on Tuesday, but it was closed to the press.

Read our recap of day one following this link.

The fair, which saw an 18% increase in attendance compared to last year, featured speakers such as director Alexander Rodnyansky, Laszlo Gaspar from AMC Networks, Andre Renaud from BBC Studios, Sofie Ferron from GRB Media Ranch, Rodrigo Nascimento from Globo, and Sebastian van Barneveld from Talpa Studios. Additionally, Sony organized screenings on Monday afternoon.

Antenna Group showcased their highly anticipated series, The Witch, at this fair. Set in 1817 in Ottoman-occupied Greece, in the unconquered region of Mani, the series follows Theofano (Elli Tringou), a young woman who experiences visions leading her to a missing child and raising suspicions of witchcraft. George Levendis, General Manager of Antenna Greece, hosted the screening of The Witch at NATPE Budapest 2024.

While business meetings continued during the day, everyone made sure to have fun in the evenings. The bustling opening night party on Monday at the Arz restaurant on the hotel’s ground floor and the boat party the following day delighted the guests.

The boat party on Tuesday night was particularly one of the fair’s highlights. Production companies and buyers enjoyed an entertaining evening on the river with the stunning Budapest skyline as their backdrop.
