Demircan Kaçel, İlker Kızmaz and Yıldıray Şahinler, the actors of Show TV’s new series “Kara”, which will be aired on 21 December, which is produced by Most Production and Murat Can Oğuz, shared their thoughts on the characters they portray.

DEMİRCAN KAÇEL PORTRAYING THE CHARACTER OF RÜZGAR

Kaçel describes the character of Rüzgar he portrays as follows: “Rüzgar is a depressed man. After the dark night he experienced when he was little, he finds colours only in the world he created, that is, drawing comics. But I can’t say that his world is very bright either. His relationship with death, his anxieties, his disconnection from life and his lost state make him a lonely man.”

Demircan Kaçel lists the highlights of the project as follows: “Kara’s story is a story that shows that theft is not only about stealing things, but also that a single moment can steal the lives of many people. I was also attracted by the fact that Kara has a dark world at a certain point and Rüzgar is a comic book illustrator. Another profession of mine is comic book drawing. The darker it is, the more colourful he is.”

Drawing attention to the harmony and high energy on the set, the actor summarised the preparation process and what awaits the audience in Kara as follows: “I started with a small image change. As much as I can, I pay special attention to the fact that every character I portray has a different appearance, even if it is minimal. We started with a good rhythm. On my first set day, I felt as if we had been working for a while.”

İLKER KIZMAZ PORTRAYING THE CHARACTER OF BAYKAL

Stating that the character Baykal is Rauf’s closest friend and confidant, Kızmaz said the following about the project: “He is the person Rauf is closest to after his family. After their paths cross with Kara, some secrets they have been hiding for years are revealed and Baykal has a big task to cover them up again.”

İlker Kızmaz

İlker Kızmaz listed the most important factors in accepting the project as follows: “The biggest factor for me was our director Ender Mıhlar. We shot a film called ‘Seni Görüyorum’ (I See You) with Ender last year. I admired his work discipline and storytelling style. When I was offered the role, I was almost one of the happiest people in the world. In addition, when the script and the character were good, it became irresistable for me.

I work with a wonderfully harmonious and kind team. We have a producer and director who give us the concepts of kindness, care and respect that we are missing these days. This sensitivity of theirs has spread to the whole team. I hope we will have the chance to work for seasons by preserving these feelings.”

YILDIRAY ŞAHİNLER PORTRAYING THE CHARACTER OF HALİM

Şahinler, who portrayed the character of Halim, said the following about the story of the series: “The story is like a road story. A long journey that a family goes through, the changes, drifts, ruptures, and efforts to stay together… On the other hand, it is a contemporary Robin Hood story. There is an action plot that will make us pause and think about the act of ‘stealing’. And behind all this, a story of reckoning that unfolds layer by layer, full of secrets that are full of surprises.”

Yıldıray Şahinler

Yıldıray Şahinler describes the character he portrays as follows: “The character of Halim I portray is the uncle of Kara, Yosun and Sedat. On the one hand, he is the most easygoing and experienced member of the family. On the one hand, he is a mentor who helps Kara restrain her crazy side, a person who carries the secrets of the family like a burden; on the other hand, he is a middle-aged boy who has not fully grown up in the safe shadow of his mother Sema.”

Saying that they had a detailed preparation process, the actor summarised the most attractive aspects of the project as follows: “The first thing that attracted me was both the multi-layered weave of the story and the deep and surprising structure of the characters, which are not just good and bad. Then the quality of the cast was decisive in my decision.”
