Leading global distributor All3Media International has secured a major US deal with PBS Distribution, bringing two highly anticipated dramas, Wildgaze Films’ romantic Trespasses and Hera Pictures’ gripping factual drama I Fought the Law, to American viewers later in 2026.
Both four-part series of All3Media International are created by and star acclaimed female talent, expanding PBS’s premium drama lineup with compelling, must-watch content.
Starring Lola Petticrew (Say Nothing), Tom Cullen (The Gold), and Emmy and Golden Globe winner Gillian Anderson (Sex Education), Trespasses is an unforgettable story of forbidden love set against the backdrop of the Troubles in 1970s Belfast. This US acquisition follows deals in Europe and Australia, four nominations at the Irish Film and Television Awards, and a European premier screening at the Geneva International Film Festival.

Commissioned by the UK’s Channel 4, Trespasses is from Wildgaze Films (Brooklyn, An Education), the independent production company run by Oscar-nominated producing duo Finola Dwyer and Amanda Posey. Led by a line-up of stellar female talent both on-screen and off, it is directed by BAFTA winner Dawn Shadforth (Mood, Adult Material) and is based on Louise Kennedy’s breakout debut novel, which was shortlisted for the Women’s Prize for Fiction and is adapted for television by rising talent Ailbhe Keogan (Bad Sisters) in her first lead writing credit.

Featuring a stunning performance from BAFTA winner Sheridan Smith (Cilla, Accused), I Fought the Law tells the heartbreaking and inspiring real-life story of Ann Ming (Smith), a mother who, driven by unimaginable grief, challenged a centuries-old law to see her daughter’s murderer finally brought to justice. The critically acclaimed drama was created for ITV in the UK by Hera Pictures (Hamnet, What It Feels Like for a Girl), the independent production company founded by award-winning producer Liza Marshall (Riviera, The State).
Written by Jamie Crichton (All Creatures Great and Small) and directed by Erik Richter Strand (The Crown), I Fought the Law is based on Ann Ming’s book ‘For the Love of Julie’. All3Media International signed numerous deals for the drama ahead of its UK debut, including acquisitions in Europe, Asia and Australia.
